On Thursday afternoon, members of the Dumont Fire Department along with countless other firefighters from across the region including a mass of FDNY personnel attended the homecoming of Westwood Firefighter and Marine Sgt. Christopher Hrbek.  Sgt. Hrbek was killed one week ago in the hills of Afghanistan's Helmand Province after stepping on an IED.  Sgt. Hrbek deployed to Afghanistan in November, prior to that he already served three combat tours with the Marines in Iraq.  Just weeks prior to his death Sgt. Hrbek dashed through enemy gunfire to save the life of another Marine who had stepped on a similar IED.  Sgt. Hrbek was due to receive the Bronze Star Medal for Valor for his actions.  The estimated crowd in Westwood to honor this fallen hero passed 5,000 people.  God bless you Sgt. Hrbek.
