Members of the Dumont Fire Department had a busy month, responding to a total of 53 calls for service. The calls for service included four mutual aid responses into neighboring jurisdictions for structure fires along with two indoor smoke conditions and an appliance fire within town. Members also responded to a total of nine carbon monoxide alarm activations, with elevated readings of carbon monoxide present at a number of residences. Always make sure to change the batteries in your alarms and detectors as carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and dangerous.
